March 2020- Our First Zoom Meeting
Due to Covid-19, we were not able to hold meetings for the rest of the term. We held three Zoom meetings to keep our members in touch and to install our new board members for 2020-2022.
Chapter Field Trip February 2020- California State Society Headquarters
Several members traveled to Glendora, California, to stay the weekend in our state headquarters house. We also toured Rubel Castle. It was a fun weekend full of games, great food, and shopping. This will be a yearly trip; be sure to join us next time!
Valentines Day 2020- Hosted luncheon for Veterans Community Center
We hosted a luncheon for veterans at the Veterans Community Center (VCC) in Citrus Heights. We served ham, turkey, pasta salad, fruit salad, chips, and desserts. This is our second year celebrating with the veterans at VCC.
December 2019- Wreaths Across America (WAA)
Our chapter participated in the second Annual WAA ceremony at Calvary Cemetery in Citrus Heights. Before the event, our members hosted a booth at the McClellan Commissary selling wreaths to place at the cemetery.
October Meeting 2019- Honoring Bob Burns
Bob Burns is our 2019 Western Region Outstanding Veteran Volunteer Winner. He will be our guest speaker at our October meeting.
June 2019- 80th Chapter Anniversary
We celebrated our 80th Anniversary with a 1940s themed birthday costume party. We had a wonderful time, visiting with California Daughters who came to celebrate with us. Our luncheon was Americana- meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, apple pie, and chocolate chip cookies. We browsed through old scrapbooks and spoke about the history of the Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASP).
September 2019- Honoring Past Regents and 100th birthday party
General John A. Sutter Chapter, NSDAR, regents were honored at a luncheon for our 56-year member, who was celebrating her 100th birthday. We made her our first honorary regent.
September Meeting 2016- Celebrating our Constitution
To celebrate Constitution Week, several of our chapter "actresses" performed a playlet about the Constitutional Convention of 1787 which was enjoyed by all.
June Meeting 2015- Celebrating 77 Years of Service
The members and guests of the General John A. Sutter Chapter, NSDAR, celebrated their 77th anniversary on June fourth with a potluck breakfast. --Happy summer to everyone!
